Why you need annual warehouse racking safety inspections
It is a requirement under Health and Safety Legislation that Pallet rack inspections must be carried out annually and by a technically qualified person such as a SEMA approved rack inspector (SARI).
As well as your statutory requirement, other benefits to having regular racking safety inspections are that you can cut maintenance costs (by spotting problems earlier) and reduce insurance premiums.
If you have new racking installed or make significant layout changes then you should have it tested straight away before the racks are even loaded. After the first inspection, you should arrange racks to be inspected at regular intervals of no more than one year.
